Why are the tickets so expensive on this tour, this is not a young band at it’s peak anymore . Still very good though, plus no Jon Lord & Ritchie Blackmore . Ninety nine dollars for the cheapest ticket, way up in the stands. One hundread & thirty five dollars for the highest , on the floor and lower seats. Plus more money for the booking. I do know the prime minster has introduced a carbon tax , & power costs more.
March 4th, 2013 at 01:45George Fotis, you are proof that ‘cloning’ is possible. You are replicated by ‘purplepriest1965’ regarding your ‘complaint to content’ ratio. As for your gripe about the price of tickets due to the band not being at their peak or being a young band, how is that a factor and since when? I don’t think the ‘Stones, KISS, Metallica, or Elton John (for that matter) are young or at their peak by any means, but apparently they still draw a huge crowd and are ‘worthy of extremely expensive tickets’. Especially overseas. Probably one of the reasons Purple tour so heavy everywhere else than the States. Their ticket prices here (when they ever do make it here) are generally much cheaper than the average concert tickets, and they rarely sell out their venues here either. You gotta go where the money is and where you are popular enough to sell tickets. The US is totally unaware of Purple’s existence and even when they do come here and tour, the only way one would know is by reading their website or THS. That’s one benifit to Purple’s lack luster promotion and being ‘under ground’ as they are apparently so proud of. Tickets are Cheap here in the States. Bad for them, Great for us…..
