Went to the show! I’m losing count but this is about the 8th time seeing the band. The orchestra added some extra ooph to some great songs. Particulary, “Rapture” “When a Blind Man Cries”, and Steve’s solo tunes. It was great hearing “Hard Lovin’ Man” love for the first time for me. I am disappointed at no “Fools” and Sometimes I feel like Screaming”. To me any of “Purpendicular” is as good as the old stuff. One last note– I noticed more of a grey haired audience in the crowd and observed that many of them wanted to “sit” instead of “stand”. Did the orchestra billing throw them off? I’m getting to believe that these so called “SMoke on the Water only” fans expected somthing different? This isn’t Three Dog Night folks. Classic Rock radio strikes DP again! I hate it!
