This is the Venue Deep Purple famously reformed at in 1984 Sydney to kick off their Perfect Strangers World Tour.Got tickets & can’t wait to see them again.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:38This is a much better venue for Purple than The Hordern Pavillion. Their last visit to Sydney was not one of their best.Staging it at the old pavillion was one of the reasons..Got tickets this time around and know for sure it will be the highlight of 2010 for me.
February 18th, 2010 at 21:20RE Charles Hili – Sif their last show at the Hordern Pavillion wasn’t so good… Maybe not their best – Made In Japan would be their best – But we both know that’s not going to happen… They were awesome at Hordern – in fact I was front row against the stage that concert the first night – Gillan swung his microphone stand while dancing – it came loose; flew across the stage and struck me… He apolagised to me mid song, and then between songs and then I met the whole band afterwards and they gave me and my two mates free tickets to the next nights show – which was also an awesome show…
– So I gotta say their last visit to Sydney was one of my most memorable for good reasons 😉
I’m concerned about how Gillan’s vocals will hold up as he looks ill of late – but Steve Morse and the rest o the band alone are an amazing show – true musicians.
