Live in Verona
Eagle Rock will release a new Deep Purple video, titled Live in Verona. This is the show at the Arena di Veriona — an ancient Roman amphitheater — on July 18, 2011, from the orchestral tour. It is due on October 20 in the UK in DVD and blu-ray formats. There are no further details at this point.
Meanwhile, here’s a pretty good quality audience recording of Lazy from that show to wet your appetite:
Thanks to Peter for the info.

August 4th, 2014 at 20:50Cool ?! 🙁
I thought it was more interesting “Live in Verona 1987”. At last, “Live in Montreux 2011 DVD/BLU-RAY/CD” already have this same tour and probably same set list.
August 4th, 2014 at 20:57Was with them when we played there in 1987-88. What an amazing place!! Just beautiful !!
August 4th, 2014 at 20:59Verona se non ci vai non sai. grande fascino. poi l arena unica al mondo come i DP
August 4th, 2014 at 21:18I thought the Orchestra tour was a bad idea when it happened(a band on it’s last legs) and held out on getting the Montreux DVD. When I finally bought it I realized I was wrong!! It actually seemed to revitalize the band . After the tour we got Now What and the live show seemed to really improve. Can’t wait to get this.
August 5th, 2014 at 00:16That’s good news. I’ve seen clips of Verona and it’s a brilliant concert.

August 5th, 2014 at 05:20Rather have a gig from the recent tour
August 5th, 2014 at 06:31A much better show than the Montreux release from the same tour .Much more atmosphere due to the setting and I believe Ian Gillan was in good voice that night compared to Montreux.

August 5th, 2014 at 13:44Release the Budokan gig!! It was filmed!! We have the Montreux 2011 orchestral gig already…maybe this is interesting to see due to the venue…the Roman Amphittheater though… 🙂
August 5th, 2014 at 19:31The bootleg proves this will be out of sight. It’s definitely a lot to do with the scenery.
August 6th, 2014 at 00:23A couple of folks have mentioned the Budokan gig. Other than a gig at Budokan, what’s significant abut that show? Am I missing something I need to spend money on?
August 7th, 2014 at 21:14Sorry, but borring.
August 14th, 2014 at 08:50Have the same show on Blu-Ray just from Montreux.
To pay for more DVDs/Blu-Rays it has to be special and with the uniqe spirit of Purple, and that brings me back to Mrk II or III days.
Look at the shows in US. 3 numers from the very well selling “NowWhat?” CD. Do Purple today believe in themself? 75% are Mrk II songs.
Again – seen it before – just better. So not this time.
October 27th, 2014 at 16:55Is expected to release on CD also or is it just for japan ??
October 29th, 2014 at 19:27Being a late buyer on this, I just watched half of it and it is quite good. Not many great close ups of Steve’s fretwork though. Gillan in quite strong voice which means alot, as I find DP sometimes a bit difficult to watch now days when one of my fave singers is struggling. High point so far is ‘Rapture’ as it is the only current Morse era song in the whole show (2 Steve Instrumentals are not songs per se’). The orchestra and band work together wonderfully and it almost makes you wish there was an orchestra on the studio cut (but thats what keyboards are great for!). I must say though, if this say’s anything… that this dvd sat on my table unplayed for a week before I felt the urge to watch it. Gone are the days when I literally ripped open the package after meeting the mailman at the box and put it directly in the player! That was back when another guitarist was in the band… just sayin’!
