November 19th, 2013 at 20:27I see the haters are out and about.
November 19th, 2013 at 21:25Looking forward to buying this great set. Love the Blackmore arrangements of those carols.
November 19th, 2013 at 22:38So what bits need to be cut out for the German market that can be left in for the English market? and vice verca !
November 20th, 2013 at 08:41@6
It’s the same edit, the same same edit, and the same microscopically different same edit. It’s great value for money, that.
November 20th, 2013 at 20:18Excellent work 1-8…you managed to prove an excellent bit of single minded stupidity there! Blackmore has moved on. Live with it. He was great in Purple and in Rainbow and now he’s doing something else. Just because you don’t happen to like that type of music is no reason for such childish comments. Purple have carried on, made a terrific album. We should all be happy.
November 20th, 2013 at 21:05Meanwhile… Got the original version of the album and it’s a fantastic set of seasonal songs. Has anyone actually got hold of the new version yet? If so, is the second disc a CD or a DVD?
@9 I didn’t see the word hate anywhere?! @13 I also didn’t see a comment that proves “single minded stupidity”, just because you do not agree with their comments is really not a reason to imply stupidity?! IMHO I wouldn’t waste my money on this music, but I don’t hate Ritchie or BN, let them do their thing, I will just enjoy the Blackmore that played rock for DP and Rainbow. I guess all the ‘haters’ wish for the same thing and that is for Blackmore to rock again, he could mop the floor with almost all guitarist out there now. Its not hate at all, its just some level of disappointment.
November 20th, 2013 at 23:24@13 Very well said.
November 21st, 2013 at 00:55Well said Kevin, I don’t like Blackmore’s stuff now, it just does not float my boat, but I don’t have to listen to it, so no problem. The guy was legend then , and has earned the right to make whatever music he likes. Now ! What ? is a terrific album . We are happy Kevin. 🙂
November 21st, 2013 at 16:29sarcasm went undetected…
November 21st, 2013 at 17:10Blackers… let Candice go alone with her fairy tales and reform Rainbow again with the Dtranger In Us All lineup!!! The Rock world needs you!!!
November 22nd, 2013 at 01:03Great music for anytime of the year but better at Christmas 🙂 . Ritchie’s beautiful instrumental “Winter” is wonderful. He is such a diverse guitar player and composer…just compare / contrast Perfect Strangers Live with Winter Carols.
A real shame there are a lot of narrow minded people around who are stuck in some sort of time warp..move on guys and appreciate what Ritchie Blackmore has done and is still doing for the past 50 years!!!
November 23rd, 2013 at 09:26Forgettable.
November 23rd, 2013 at 13:13@13 Kevin,
absolutely right! I am DP fan for 44 years now. I loved RB’s guitarwork during his Purple and Rainbow days, but I really don’t like was he is doing now. But, still, I’m far away from calling the musik he is playing with BN garbage, shit or anything else like that. There are a lot of folks around who love the musik he plays nowadays, and that’s OK! All the others, like myself, just don’t have to listen or buy the CD’s. In his way, he still is a genius on the guitar and the other instruments he plays.
Greetings,
Lutz (a 58 year old DP fan from Germany)
November 23rd, 2013 at 18:47Spot on Stoffer:
Nothing wrong with being critical or opinionated about particular songs or music. That isn’t hate, it’s expression of one’s own level of self enjoyment. Duuuhhhh, it’s to each individuals taste and ear. There is enough back catalogue music from Blackmore to entertain us all till the geese fly home. I actually do enjoy Blackmore’s Night music so I get double the pleasure. Of course I would love to see Ritchie break away and do something hard rock or blues but as long as his Baby Mama wears the pants and he wears the tights, it ain’t gonna happen. But that’s OK. He is at least putting out something and it’s all good…. very repetitive but good.
As for the 4 versions of Christmas Eve on this?…… WTF!

November 25th, 2013 at 01:41Cool your jets people. I don’t know if this is worth the effort of trying to find it in Australia, but the original is a great GREAT cd (except for ‘wish you were here’ which seems quite out of place).
It’s nearly December. The shops are playing appalling versions of great Christmas songs. At least this is a good one.
November 27th, 2013 at 05:42Jethro Tull’s Christmas album is the one to have! Tull have always played a tune here & there from decades gone by, relating to this time of the year! Speaking of traditional tunes, I went to see Clannad in concert a few weeks back. Great to hear tunes from hundreds of years ago played & sung by true blue Irish heritage! In Gaelic also a few of them, as they have always performed them!
November 28th, 2013 at 11:47It was magic, the Celtic harp & a tin whistle & or the flute, haunting music indeed! Of course they also play rock music at times & actually did sound a little Tull like, or should that be the other way around, as Tull have always drawn on traditional tunes here & there also!
Hey Santa, pass us that bottle will you! Merry Christmas! Cheers.
This album is great, what are you lot moaning about, its what Richie now likes to do and I think he has done his bit for rock
December 1st, 2013 at 17:56I prefer Mariah Carey and WHAM!
