Don’t worry, PP. In an recent interview with Sweden Rock Magazine, Ritchie says he has beer played a show sober and he doesn’t intend to change that. So he has not stopped drinking alcohol. 🙂

Life is important because of death, as every life ultimately ends in death… That’s if you think of time as a linear thing, which it isn’t. But death is important because of our mind and consciousness that “ticks” and process our life as a linear thing, therefore, life is important because of death, it is precious because it’s short, fragile and will be ended (at least as we know it) by the death. Oh why death?! Why?! So much of love and emotions, troubles and experiences, wise and empty words (like these) and it all ends??!!
But I don’t think that Ritchie was referring to any of this. What’s funny are ideas that come to his mind in first place and the way he express it. Where the hell he found it now, and why? If this was IG’s interview, it would be some cliche we already know, but with Ritchie it’s quite different story. Which explains imagination and subtlety present in his tunes and work generally…
Something IG’s DP Tribute Band lost long ago. The new album is somehow exception, but it isn’t DP any ways.
Nevertheless, Tommy, if you don’t love The Man in Black who is ultimate DP priest, who’s not defined by DP only but definitely defining entity for DP’s life, and death of it’s soul, what do You doing here, mate?!

What was the old comment from years gone by ‘you need to stop & smell the flowers” Something like that! Same thing, so many people these days are very impatient, selfish & rude! We leave them behind to wallow! Who is the chick interviewing him? I had to laugh ‘do you have many friends’? What an absurd question! Funny! Actually that was hilarious. I didn’t listen to his other side talking, I can’t stand her at all! If she did say his writing music these days is better than the past, well! Enough said there!

Do I have to like or agree with Ritchie’s contemplative incontinence in order to appreciate his music?! I’m a big fan of the music he created during his 20’s and 30’s. I think that he was a genius back then. To a certain degree he’s an interesting character as well, I own the unofficial Jerry Bloom biography “Black Knight”. But sometimes I think he’s just crazy ;-). Both, Ritchie and Candice are odd birds …

You’re right on WHAT ARE YOU…. But you’re right only on that, the rest is debatable, I think my speech makes perfect sense, but it’s senseless to speak on first part of it here and now – my point is if life is important, it is because of death and nothingness, it is debatable as well, but it was small exchange of words with Tommy who states opposite in term of Ritchie, who’s 67 years old, and has concluded that death is pretty serious “Carry on Jon” ring the bell.
I’ve just shared some thoughts with Tommy, haven’t judged on him, I’ve expressed my opinion on IG’s DP Tribute Band 🙂 , you may call it sort of judgement, and I have an opinion which I’m untitled to, and about adulations, I don’t know, it doesn’t seem to have much sense..
You don’t state Blackers did some music 20 years ago as if it’s fact, and if someone says opposite, like we Blackers’ fans, it’s judgement on someone, or whatever. It’s opposite opinion not more or less…

I agree, he’s eccentric and a lot… 🙂 That’s why he’s so interesting, and his music subtle and crazy. He doesn’t need to be like Page unlike some, he’s easily himself and great!

I walk and take transit to work every day and it’s amazing to see 90% of the population glued to their goddamn smartphones and iphones all the time. I’m a tree hugger too, and I believe everyone would benfit from putting down the smartphone and going out in the forest or out in a canoe on a regular basis

June 28th, 2013 at 06:53Anthony @ 29 – I agree, but I believe one of the reason’s Blackmore looks great for his age, could be the old nick & tuck. Although some may also say a younger partner may also be helping keep him younger. Most people in their mid to late 60’s who don’t look like they are of that age, would no doubt be having a little cosmetic surgery I would think. Ian Gillan looks well for his age also! Same scenario me thinks. I don’t disagree with it at all. Two big time rock stars who don’t look like they have gone under the knife are Mick Jagger & Robert Plant. Good luck to them also, but that sort of surprises me, as they both were so vain in their younger days! But they are both great front men & Plant is a superb vocalist also, so let it be! Father time catches up with us all. Cheers.
June 28th, 2013 at 11:10Loved SHADOW OF THE MOON. Probably the greatest light rock album ever. If Ritchie is happy doing what he is doing then great for both of them. But seriously one last HARD ROCK ALBUM might do Ritchie some good. I have some incredible ideas give me a call, I am available. Not sure if the MIL would like me though, my sense of humor is very very dry, drought like.
