Concerto 2012 trailer
earMUSIC has released a trailer for the upcoming extended version of the new studio recording of Jon Lord’s Concerto for Group and Orchestra:
The extended version will include an 80-page book containing Paul Mann‘s and Marco de Goeij‘s essays, plus photographs, and a DVD with the documentary about the making of the recording. It is due to be released on December 7.
Thanks to Yvonne Osthausen for the info.
This is one I will get for sure, in memory of the greatest of them all.
November 7th, 2012 at 17:47I still don’t have the CD but I’m waiting for the CD+DVD-release. The bits I heard so far make it hard to wait for it. It’s truly exciting what Jon did with the Concerto!

November 7th, 2012 at 20:23What a fantastic performer, musician, composer, etc.
His music, and especially the Concerto and Sarabande are amongst the few albums I will take along to a deserted island…
Oh, what a joy to listen to this newly created Concerto.
What more can I add to this post?

November 9th, 2012 at 13:59Where is all the love, respect and general outpouring for this to make it out so soon after his passing and contain so much integral effort? I’m sure the release is still selling well, shouldn’t it be? I don’t get the fans when I see this, but oh well, someones lives go on….
November 15th, 2012 at 11:14I can say it’s very cool to see old IKEN posting here among some of the usual punters of late with their anti-supportive comments running the place down. Cheers, IKEN!
November 15th, 2012 at 11:16It is not about ” back to buisness/lives go on” .
I m sure that critical persons does not exclude enduring grief because of his death.
At the same time one should not embrace a ” new” effort just because he not among us anymore.
I can’t speak for everyone but IMHO it was awrong choice to put this kinda effort into it in this stage of his life.
After all, the 1969 version is UNBEATABLE.
On this edition (IMO!!!!) lesser people were used.
Maybe Dickinson is the only one that does not fall in that category.
But he is not Gillan in his prime.
Maybe it would have helped if Blackmore could have taken part in this version, I dont know.
