Glover in Venice
Roger Glover will support Hard Rock Cafe’s “Street 2 Sanctuary” campaign to help girls forced to prostitution and their children from the streets of Bombay red light district and place them into the sanctuary and care of the Bombay Teen Challenge. Deep Purple, of course have a history with HRC Venice charity projects as in 2009 they have donated a Music Man guitar signed by all members of the band to the “Imagine There’s No Hunger” raffle, which raised over €5,100.
Glover will appear at the meet and greet with the fans at the Hard Rock Cafe in Venice, Italy, on April 27. The event starts at 9pm. Address: Bacino Orseolo, 1192 (close to St. Mark Square). For more information call +3904152201513 or email venice_salescoordinator@hardrock.com.
The next day, April 28th, he will play a gig with Italian guitar player Tolo Marton at the Cinema Teatro Corso in Venice suburb Mestre-Venezia. Tickets €29 are available online (here and here) or at the venue between 5 and 9 pm. For more information call +393929927983 (English/Italian).
Thanks to Ivano Bosello for the info.

Glad to see several of the Boys taking time out for other projects outside the parent band.Maybe this will recharge their Hard Rock batteries for the recording of the new album later this year. What with 5 – 7 years between recordings these days this may very well be (sadly) the last Deep Purple Album.
March 25th, 2012 at 12:34Nicely done Rog.
Hope the show on the 28th is recorded..
Cheers

March 27th, 2012 at 22:14Tolo Marton? Is Nobody else better than TM free that night?
April 1st, 2012 at 14:01They will perform Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Cream…and for the very first time, Roger Glover’s stuff
April 3rd, 2012 at 14:17Obviously they’ll perform Tolo Marton and Deep Purple’s stuff!
I think will be really great gig.
Rock’n’Roll!!!
@mk. Maybe you are not Italian and you don’t know him.
April 3rd, 2012 at 14:22It’s not a “cover band”, it’s a guitar player, a great guitar player.
He was the winner of “Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Competition” organized by Fender USA and Jimi’s father and sister.
It’s NOT a Deep Purple gig, it’s a rock gig and Tolo Marton it’s the right man at the right place.
If it is not a Deep Purple gig, why then the trailer?
Interesting only MK 2 was featured in it.
So little time, so much good music.
Ahem…..
April 12th, 2012 at 22:27@8…PP,
Really? You need to ask this question? The bill shows Roger Glover ‘of Deep Purple’ as the main performer. Obviously due to being the bass player for ‘Deep Purple’ as good promotion. Also obvious in promotion would be to use the most ‘familiar’ aspects of the performer’s background…..
It isn’t Rocket Science.
Cheers
April 13th, 2012 at 16:20Wish we could be there Roger. The last time we had a jar and some banter was in Paris. The Irish bar at the Opera. Have a great time. lol, Margaret & Peter xx
