    Music is therapy as they say – I’m happy to see Steve going out and playing.

    You can tell that it has hit him hard – all power to him for the healing process.

    @1 & 2,

    Yes indeed on both comments….

    I anxiously await the gig in Red Bank New Jersey in The Vogel, a small intimate theater. Cannot believe it has been near 14 months since the SMB gig at The Vogel. Beauty of it includes living only a half hour away. :>

    In addition, it’s been 30 (!!) years since seeing Jordan touring as The Dreg’s keyboardist.

    And The New York Rangers last Stanley Cup win. :<

    Peace,
    Ted

    I’d prefer to see him with Flying Colors more often. It’s just more his music.

    Admittedly, I can only get that far listening to either the Dixie Dregs or SMB, instrumental music has its limits with me, I need a human voice after a while, but that is just me.

    Steve left Purple with a very strong album (Whoosh!, I’m not counting TTC) as a parting gift and his decades of service have earned him a rightful place in the Pantheon of major DP members, but after eight studio albums (TTC included) he had said pretty much everything he could in the DP format. Let’s give the Irish kid a chance.

    First heard Steve w Dixie Dreggs arond 1977.
    Saw them 78-79’ – they were awesome.
    More power to him -hope this is his therapy!
    Going to miss him in Purple!
    Have been giving the Irish guy a listen and looking forward to
    the album .He’s pretty good!

    I hear you regarding all instrumental music. Although I do dig The Dregs much more than the SMB simply because there is a voice of sorts with the violin & keyboards. The SMB is much more limited & a power base formula, a little restrictive & same-ish after a while. The ‘perfect’ blend in music for me is approximately 50/50 or thereabouts. Cheers.
