Mo Foster R.I.P.
Roger Glover posts a eulogy to an old friend Mo Foster:
Deep sadness at the news that Mo Foster has died. I met him on the Butterfly Ball sessions in 1974 and we always remained friends. Not only was he a warm and charming man but an inspiring bass player and endowed with a superb sense of humour. His book British Rock Guitar was, and is, both insightful and wickedly funny. One of a kind. He will be sorely missed.
My condolences to his wife Kaye and all his family and friends

July 6th, 2023 at 18:56I spent a highly entertaining couple of hours with Mo during the promotional tour for his guitar book in the UK (well recommended by the way, if you liked Deke Leonard’s musical musings, you’ll love this too!).

@ 8 – thanks ever so much for the link for that Mo Foster interview. I read a comment on youtube about the Minder tv theme song I Could Be So Good For You. He wasn’t into slap playing at all apparently & he said something similar here. I never knew who played that bass guitar & after decades I find out it was him. He certainly has been around & what a life & musical career he had. A good story regarding being in Australia with that ‘roadie’ kangaroo & the John William’s one as well amongst others. Cheers.

July 12th, 2023 at 22:13The book British Rock Guitar is highly recommended for you guys as it has rare quotes and pics with Blackmore, (a lot of) Glover, Lord, Ashton and members of IGB and early Whitesnake. Enjoy. I recommend Mo’s contributions to Jeff Beck and Gary Moore etc.
