Glenn Hughes at Norwegian Purple tribute
Glenn Hughes played a Deep Purple set with the boys from Norwegian tribute band ‘Come Taste The Band’.
Glenn was in excellent shape and in good humour. I have seen this band a couple of times before, and they are pretty good. This is the best I have seen them, and it looked as if Glenn got the best out of them.
I saw this as a good chance to hear some good MK 3/4 songs, and it turned out to be a very fun and memorable night. Of course the original is better, but I think it`s great that Glenn did this as part of his “summer holiday”
Extended solos from all in the band during the show, and nice to see and hear “the furniture” Hammond. Guitarplayer is a Blackmore authentic in his playing and Vidar the singer made some nice harmonies with Glenn.

August 4th, 2009 at 22:24Nice to see Jo Henning use his Fender Stratocaster Ritchie Blackmore Signature, bought from and modified by mijfenders with Lace Golds (special wiring), CTS pots, YellowWhite body and maybe the most crucial part- the RBTC! What a great Blackmorish sound he has obtained with his set up:-)

Agreed.
Did you see him in the 90s?
He did a lot of Mark 3 and 4 material and those shows were perfect.
Not too loud and very clear.
Hughes voice was never better and in my perception did not overindulge in the shrieking department most of us so truly loath.
The adding of some old TRAPEZE and covers like SUPERSTITION were very enjoyable too.
I d love to have a GOOD recording of the show in Amsterdam during the Addiction tour.
August 25th, 2009 at 12:09^That sound had a good Deep Purple feel to the proceedings cause the great keyboardsound added to Addictionsongs which were a bit to cold in my opinion.
The album sounds very dark and the live renditions felt warmer.
Yeah Priest….I concur with most of this.
I never got to see any of his solo shows in person, but I do have a bunch of Bootleg Videos of various shows of his. Some really good. My biggest complaint and truly the only one I have had regarding his performances was due to the constant overdone high pitched shrieking you made reference to. Something he began I guess back in Purple, trying to emulate Gillan, but even though the high notes were hit, they were done in a very irritating manner. He is probably the greatest singer out there overall in my opinion, but as with all Greats, they have the one glitch that pissed you off. I love hearing him sing. Hate it when he shrieks. Unfortunately, he just seems to feel the need to shriek too much and it totally takes away from his overall performance..

Appice and Aldritch are fine players. Sorry, seen them both in many bands and they do a fine job. Candice if also fine for what she does…..and apparently she does Blackmore pretty well….he he he…
