Playing music is addictive
Jon Lord would have turned 80 today, June 9. Here he is talking backstage in Hamburg during the Concerto tour in 2000, with Paicey joining the conversation towards the end. Enjoy!
Thanks to Yvonne for reminding us.

My favorite Musician. His post Purple work is excellent. I think his last album, “To Notice Such Things” just might be his best solo work! Jon Lord + Ritchie Blackmore = The most powerful Keyboards/Guitar team of all time!!!
June 9th, 2021 at 19:54Great interview. It’s always interesting to hear how DP developed music between the two. There is a comment from Ritchie where he said the reason he wore black was because Jon was such a gentleman, or words to that effect.
June 10th, 2021 at 01:22As everyone here probably knows, Jon died of pancreatic cancer. Very little progress has been made in treating it, and only 10% of victims survive for five years. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is the leading pancreatic cancer charity, and does excellent work not only in supporting research but also in giving practical assistance to people recently diagnosed. If you check out their website (https://www.pancan.org), you’ll also notice that their color happens to be purple. I have donated in the past, and will do so again. Please consider it yourself.

June 10th, 2021 at 08:32It’s really amazing that I feel that Jon Lord is more alive and kicking than he was alive. The love just keeps on growing.
I hope his family will have a lovely day remembering him.
Peace
Ciao Jon ♡
