December 7th, 2020 at 00:21If I could keep my dear guys, maybe my suggestion and I’m not the only one … The C19 pandemic disrupted the concert promotion of the new album “Whoosh!”. Maybe it’s time for a live album in adequate space with the complete set list of the Steve Morse era. / maybe I change the arrangements, with improvisations inherent in DP .great songs: “A Simple Song”, “Hip Boots”, “Out of Hand”, “Clearly Quite Absurd”, “Loosen My Strings”, “The Aviator”,Don ‘t Make Me Happy “… and many others who have never been on concert setlists + new material with Whoosh!”
December 7th, 2020 at 11:41You know when some tells you that his job is his hobby and they retired from their their normal job since 19 then you just need to stop talking about retirement and so on. This is very uncomfortable and it’s like saying to mature person you lived long and you should go. The three albums that DP did with Bob Ezrin are so diverse and fun and full of wealth of great material. I was listening to Infinite and even the so called weak songs like ‘one night in Vegas’ and ‘On top of the world’ it sounds so fresh and lots of fun and the production is second to none.

December 7th, 2020 at 13:27One thing that definitely has declined is the quality of the audio on AM radio, whether music or voice. I kept a 1973 Mercury Marquis in my garage in near-mint condition with only 43,000 miles on it. The punch-button radio was AM only – no FM. And yet it sounded magnificent compared to the AM radio of today. The amps were better; no skimping.
December 9th, 2020 at 00:22Rapture of the Deep, musically, is one of my favorite albums. But the mix or compression wasn’t right on it. Similar to Black Sabbath’s ‘Born Again’ album: musically fine, but very muddy.

December 9th, 2020 at 13:19I agree 100% and I add ‘Birds of prey’ to the songs prematurely cut short. Maybe extended versions will see the light of day on day.
But we can also argue the same for the songs Rosa’s Cantina and Ramshackle man from the past and that’s purely because they are a great musicians with thousands of hours of jamming skills on stage and in the studio.

Awe man..Too bad no questions about what is in the Purple Archives. Would love to know if there is any more footage from the Blackmore times. Also the instrumental jams from the “Perfect Strangers” era. Joe Lynn Turner said he had a disc of Instrumentals in the studio with Blackmore playing over drum machines. The footage of the amazing Son of Alerik would be killer to see. It was supposedly caught on tape.
December 11th, 2020 at 22:16I’d be very curious to hear the ROTD of the remixes. It’s my least favorite of all the purple albums, but maybe part of that is the mix. I like Bananas, that could use a remix as well.
