Maybe it’s rehearsal take #75, but the guys look BORED.
May 15th, 2020 at 15:00I love watching these senior citizens at work! : – ) It’s good to be useful even at old age.
May 15th, 2020 at 15:45Sounds better โliveโ and more rock
May 15th, 2020 at 15:59Still it doesn’t sound like a strong album opener
May 15th, 2020 at 18:10And you tell me the guy can’t play a solo! Sometimes, in his phrasing, I hear even a little bit of Tommy Bolin in Steve.
May 15th, 2020 at 18:32very cool thanks
May 15th, 2020 at 18:51Cool. I like this kind of stuff. Kinda wish more people did what they did with the Gillan’s Inn release that was a DualDisc with 2 sides, SC/DVD, and put this kind of stuff on it.
Can’t help but think that we may only have video going forward so it makes me very grateful that I saw them on the Theater Tour last year at the Fox in Riverside, CA.

very cool ! ๐
May 15th, 2020 at 19:53uwe @5: perhaps it’s a little bit of john mclaughlin in both of them ๐
May 15th, 2020 at 20:05@ 4:18: Why isn’t this crazy cool string section on the album? It would have been brilliant.
May 15th, 2020 at 20:26It’s still very ploddy.
May 15th, 2020 at 22:00Fascinating! ๐
May 15th, 2020 at 22:32Steve’s solo sounds looser, nicer, more relaxed – less “widdly-waddly” – as compared to what has landed on the finished take on the record. Another proof that sometimes the less is so much more. I still have reservations regarding these strings running through the track, although it’s a joy to see how effortlessly Don is playing them. Wish I had his skills! ๐
May 16th, 2020 at 13:26Nick@11: excellent point, good ears!
May 16th, 2020 at 14:02Thank You! There was a nice atmosphere. The guys are professionals

May 18th, 2020 at 21:59Sounds King Crimsonish !
May 19th, 2020 at 12:55Great song! Canโt wait to hear the whole album๐ I wonder what life will be like the day Deep Purple is history?๐ฌ๐ณ
