New website, cover art, and track listing for Whoosh!
The press release went down the wire today confirming release date for the new Deep Purple album Whoosh! as June 12. There is also a new website to promote the album.
The track listing is as follows:
- Throw My Bones
- Drop The Weapon
- We’re All The Same In The Dark
- Nothing At All
- No Need To Shout
- Step By Step
- What The What
- The Long Way Round
- The Power Of The Moon
- Remission Possible
- Man Alive
- And The Address
- Dancing In My Sleep
Number 12 is, of course, a pure and unadulterated speculation fodder 😉
The “mediabook” thingy shipped as part of in some release formats will include an hour long feature Roger Glover And Bob Ezrin In Conversation and the full live performance at Hellfest 2017, both on video.
[update Feb 29] Speculations are over. There are 30 seconds previews of each song available at your local Google Play store. Which confirms that And the Address is indeed a remake of the track from Shades of Deep Purple.
Thanks to Jim Collins, Amit Roy, BraveWords, and everybody who posted this in the comments.
That’s a lot of tracks.
February 27th, 2020 at 15:37Keith Livingstone clean out, before closure…?
February 27th, 2020 at 15:58Morten Overgaard Could be. I heard the last track was actually ‘And the Address’ which was the first on Shades. The circle completes?
February 27th, 2020 at 15:59“Dancing in my sleep” could be a bonus track, then?
February 27th, 2020 at 16:03Paul Hazza Harrison Could be. Just like the last two albums.
February 27th, 2020 at 16:11Saw on the website the lyrics to the song Deep Purple with Ian’s name at the end.
February 27th, 2020 at 16:29Would have been interested to hear their take on the song that inspired the bands name.
Looking forward to hearing this album soon.
Whoosh! So excited.
February 27th, 2020 at 16:30And The Address… first song from the first album. Seems like an accolade 😉
February 27th, 2020 at 16:34My guess is that Whoosh is going to be the best post reunion album. Cannot explain why but a solid guess. Two question marks though: a set of 13 songs may be an invitation to fillers. And song no. 13: I hope it is not a cover.
February 27th, 2020 at 16:53Love the cover art………is and the address a remake from the 1st album….or new track?………unadulterated speculation fodder👽
February 27th, 2020 at 17:19Are all those tracks the main album? There was talk of long tracks…. So not so long ones then?
February 27th, 2020 at 17:33Wow. Can’t wait. The first track I listen to will be “And the Address”.
February 27th, 2020 at 20:59“I‘ve been asked a lot: ‘Is this our last album?’ I remember when we did Now What?! which is now what… eight years ago? And then we did InFinite or Infinite and [keyboardist] Don [Airey] was asked is this the last album? He said, ‘I thought the last album was the last album,'” commented bassist Roger Glover.
Good on ya lads!
February 27th, 2020 at 21:06I’m a bit shocked at the silliness of the title, but as long as it’s better than Infinite,i don’t really mind. That,to me,was the most disappointing album Deep Purple have ever made.Too short,a pointless cover track, and only 4 great tracks .I was hoping for some longer tracks this time, but with the amount stated,it doesn’t look like it.Having said that,i await with great anticipation.I have to say,i’m not too keen on Bob Ezrin,he seems to limit the band’s flow.I can’t understand why Roger Glover doesn’t produce it.
February 27th, 2020 at 22:21Sooo…. if it’s a new take on the original band’s opening salvo, then I’m just wondering if big Ian put lyrics to “And The Address”?!. Well, throw my bones & man alive…
February 27th, 2020 at 22:43We live in interesting times.
June 12?. Hey, that’s my late Mom’s birthday!.
Bless you all, Deep Purple!. 😎 🍻 💃 🎁🎂🎈🎉🎊🎸🎹🎤🚥🌏🚀🌕 👽
At least Abandon and Bananas are off the hook for having the worse album cover.
That out of the way, I am damn excited. At 13 songs, there will certainly be some filler, but DPs filler is better than most bands best tracks.
And the Address and Dancing in My Sleep are tracks that certainly have my attention. Even if Dancing is a cover, it’s gotta be better than Road House Blues cover.
And the Address…. well, that’s gotta be DP covering DP right? Been done before with Bludsucker. Certainly possible.
Christmas coming early!
February 28th, 2020 at 00:53I could not be more proud of this band. They continue to give and give and give.
February 28th, 2020 at 00:57I think that will be a very good album, cannot wait to buy it!!!
February 28th, 2020 at 06:41FINALMENTEEEEEEE NON VEDO L’ORA CHE ESCA GRANDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
February 28th, 2020 at 08:33I prefer infinite cover but the music is another story..i cant wait….how April became June?
February 28th, 2020 at 10:45I am old enough and wise enough for not to get excited about an album name or cover. Show me the music guys 👍👌
February 28th, 2020 at 11:51@14: RG said many years ago that he didn’t want to produce the band’s own albums anymore because he wanted to focus on being a musician. Producer is also a job where you can run the risk of getting into arguments with the band members (look up what Steve has to say about working with Ezrin) and maybe that means that it can be difficult to produce when you are one of the band members.
February 28th, 2020 at 12:58I know there is some dislike over the direction of the last two albums, but I think Bob Erzin was revitalized these guys and pulled some great songs out of the boys.
Also sounds like he isn’t afraid to step on some toes, and the results show.
Long Live Purple.
February 28th, 2020 at 13:03@23
No doubt but I thought Now What?! was much more “deliberate” in ideas and the material was strong.Infinite was a letdown in terms of length and song writing. Some great songs not doubt, but I hope that this one “stretches out”more in length….to the length of Purpendicular.I hope for an album over 60 minutes and beside the title of the albums which is weird to say the least,I hope the material is stronger.I’m sick of the fillers and I don’t care about the likes of “Road House Blues ” and whatnot.
February 28th, 2020 at 13:33“And the Address…. well, that’s gotta be DP covering DP right? Been done before with Bludsucker. Certainly possible.”
And with HUSH.
February 28th, 2020 at 14:00Maybe its like Shades, with lots of covers.
February 28th, 2020 at 14:14Deep Purple’s “And the Address”
New Kids on the Block’s “Step by Step” hahah
What else? =D
Well…..Long live this great band. No more. We all know that it will be a great work!!!
February 28th, 2020 at 16:08I figured those 20 sec FB clips would be part of the official release in some way.
February 28th, 2020 at 18:55I can’t see watching Bob an’ Rog chat very often-more than twice-but, I only watched the DVD that came with Now What once.Pretty much a throwaway add-on,that one,
It’ll be nice to have the full Hellfest show. Anyone know how long that is ??
13 tunes will make a jam-packed album.
Don’t worry.There’ll undoubtedly be a Tour/Deluxe/Gold Edition to come.
Ah,marketing !!!
@22,that’s very interesting, and it does make a lot of sense. However,Roger Glover is a great producer, and he knows the band’s needs more than anyone.I think they should have arranged things amongst themselves.Watching the Infinite documentary,i got the impression that Bob Ezrin was stepping on their toes a bit,and preventing them from really letting go and expressing themselves. That’s part of the reason, for me,that Infinite is so disappointing. But clarity wise,it’s great production, and i hope it’s a great effort from everyone this time.A new Deep Purple album is always a special event, and i don’t think this will be their last album, this long goodbye stuff is a gimmick, they’ll be around for years yet!
February 28th, 2020 at 20:59The album cover reminds me of the cover from the first Flying Colors album.
February 29th, 2020 at 00:42Great info.
February 29th, 2020 at 06:57I’ll wait to make any decisions on the album as I haven’t heard it but with Bob producing I’m not worried at all.
The last two albums have been fantastic and inFinite is probably my most listened to Purple album ever.
Roll on June.
And the address is a cover from the 1968 version: https://play.google.com/store/music/album/Deep_Purple_Whoosh?id=Bp5p6emvx7d3auelt5l36iqdm3m&hl=de&PCamRefID=LFV_2de50edbe7b2168c370097bc383209a5&tid=song-Tdj3l55ps3ebdq5tg2fwe55yf54&fbclid=IwAR2ti8YgRN2lG16XSVtXSsPUIYD0b98nIadpf71GuBTjL75cBeA-z0Kz_qY
February 29th, 2020 at 08:32It would be nice a surprise”And the Address” to Ritchie guest on the new version, so he co-authored with Jon.I think “And the Address” at concerts will be a replacement for “Mars, the Bringer of War”.song 00
February 29th, 2020 at 08:56If the new album is 75% as good as “inFinite” / minimum of two songs that remain for all time / I am SATISFIED. “inFinite” to me the best album after “Perfect Strangers” / four good songs “Time For Bedlam”, “All I Got Is You”, “The Surprising” / all over 2 million YouTube views only “Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming” has more from the Steve Morse era and of course the fourth song with “inFinite” “Birds of Prey”.
I’m waiting … eagerly
Preview’s now available on Google play! And the Address is the #1 track!!!!
February 29th, 2020 at 10:10A producer can’t write the song for any band but he can channel the endless ideas into a meaningful song that sounds the best possible. So if the material is crap to start with the result will be like shinny car with no engine. Show me the music guys and don’t get fooled by the cover or the album title. The material in Now What and Infinite was very limited if you really dig down and get to the core of the songs. There are good songs average songs and then the weak songs but sadly nothing like Perpendicular or Bananas material.
February 29th, 2020 at 11:11Love, peace and respect to you all.
I’m beyond pleased with this turn of events having enjoyed Infinite and Now What!? a lot. Someone said that there were only 4 Great tracks on Infinite. I’d agree (Time for Bedlam, Hip Boots, The Suprizing and Birds of Prey) but there are some really good ones around it and the only 2 tracks that I always skip now are Get me Out of Here and Roadhouse.
Id say most of the reunion albums (particularly pre 1993) are not brilliant track for track like the classic 70s Mark 2 output. My musical life is much richer for those 4 songs and I hope there are at least 4 songs on Whoosh that make my all time playlist.
February 29th, 2020 at 13:18Hi everyone, you can hear snippets from all tracks here:
https://play.google.com/store/music/album?id=Bp5p6emvx7d3auelt5l36iqdm3m&tid=song-Tjzhnhka45b64wrtgyqopkyakzu&hl=de
Have a nice Day!
February 29th, 2020 at 15:06It is risky to judge an album from 30 snippets, bit it sounds like a big let-down to me unfortunately.
February 29th, 2020 at 16:44@36,it was me who only likes 4 tracks on Infinite.I agree on 3 of your choices, but i’d swap Hip Boots for Get Me Outta Here. It’s fairly basic, but it works well, with good solos.I certainly agree with you about most of the reunion albums compared to the classic brilliance of the 70’s Mark 2.Although Perfect Strangers is perfect, for me,Ritchie Blackmore’s best ever guitar input. As you quite rightly state, even 4 great new tracks is enriching, let’s hope it’s more than 4 out of a long list of new tracks.
February 29th, 2020 at 21:22Again, with a serious margin of error guessing from the snippets, Drop the weapon, What the what and No need to shout seem to be the fillers on this LP, the rest of it is a grower.
March 1st, 2020 at 09:43Having listened to the track clips,i was really disappointed at first, then some of it really grew on me.I think Don Airey will be fantastic,as always, but where is Steve Morse?I hardly hear any guitars,Bob Ezrin has subdued the guitar sound, just like on Infinite.I don’t know why they use him.I get the impression this will be better than Infinite, but i’m still not expecting too much.A lot of the tracks are too short,i would prefer less, longer tracks.Ian Gillan himself once questioned the point of a 3 minute track, yet this album is awash with them! But i still can’t wait to hear it,this is Deep Purple, the best band of all time.
March 1st, 2020 at 11:29I Tunes US showing song titles and times. Two five minute songs. Rest 3-4 minutes each. One song 1:38( must be an instrumental). Opening song “Throw My Bones” 3:38. So much for stretching things out!
March 1st, 2020 at 13:08Clips from Woosh! ready clicked:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YZG7hd5Rvc&feature=youtu.be
March 1st, 2020 at 17:09Can’t listen to the samples…. any suggestions????
March 1st, 2020 at 20:36Listening to preview clips on You Tube. Hmmm
March 2nd, 2020 at 04:31Anyone else? I know the clips are short.
Sorry but judging by the samples of all tunes on Google Play, this album is sounding bland, flat and uninspiring so far. I so hope the samples dont reperesent the final full play.
Now What was an amazing album and Infinite had four or five interesting songs on it. However I am not excited by what I hear in those samples so far. Also really it pains me to say this, but Gillans voice is way, way past its best and thats in the studio, live it will be truly awful at this rate.
Sorry everyone, I love this band, all line ups, but this is not the way to go out kicking and screaming like the original pioneers of heavy rock should do.
It looks for sure that Ritchie has hung his boots up on live gigs now, at least I hope he has. There has been some sublime moments this last four years on the Rainbow gigs, but its also time for him to step back and let the legacy, the sheer volume of amazing work on record, film etc fly the flag now. Sad day when your heros can no longer turn you on with new stuff. Ahh well time to put on Made In Japan and appreciate what we have got 🙂

March 2nd, 2020 at 12:15Are these the longer tracks talked about by the band ?
March 2nd, 2020 at 12:50Listening to these clips it is a continuation from the average last album. On first hearing no great melodies stand out. Is it just me or does Don Airey’s keyboards now dominate the sound? Rock is guitar led and I’m afraid Steve Morse has dropped down the pecking order in Ezrin’s production. Granted these are only short clips but a big disappointment. Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming!!
March 2nd, 2020 at 16:45I have just listened the 30 Seconds previews of the songs… OK. It’s only 30 secs.Alright… But I did not find anything different in the sound that really mark a difference with INFINITE. The same style of production that is limiting a band that still can do more. Much more than a bunch of short simple songs. What I did listen here and in Infinite has nothing to do with the greatness that the name of Deep Purple implied. “Now What?!” was a different album.. I had Variety, exploration, search of new musical bounderies.. All seems to be lost now. Maybe “The Surprising” , “Bird of Prey” can be a reminiscence of what DP deserve to be now.. But for me , IMHO, the new sound is the sound of how the producer thinks that a band of classic rock of the 70’s must sound now . He seems to forget the DP is much more than a simple classic rock band of the 70’s.. But well , now is 21st century and maybe I am nothing but a poor 21st Century schizoid man ….
March 2nd, 2020 at 17:12Are the google play snippets fakes?
March 2nd, 2020 at 19:31@32
March 2nd, 2020 at 22:33from that list I see that the longest song is cutting to 5 minutes and some. The whole album is almost 50 minutes.
I don’t wan bitch before even listening to it,but i was hoping for longer songs or at least trying to “stretch out” like they said they did.Oh well …
To avoid the problem with the country and the local Google Play site, someone called “hardrockpete” 🙂 create a video in youtube where you can listen the 30 secs preview of the songs without any “geolocation” issue … Here’s the link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YZG7hd5Rvc
Thanks to hardrockpete for this wonderfull idea
March 3rd, 2020 at 00:22Looks like the previews are gone again (for now).
March 3rd, 2020 at 08:18In an earlier interview they spoke about 7 long numbers. They have become 13 and short.
March 3rd, 2020 at 10:16no room for solo work on guitar or organ.
Unfortunately, they will play few songs live to hear if there are solos in it.
But am curious about the rest of the album so for now no criticism ….
bonjour de toute manière je ne l’achèterai pas! malgré le nom du groupe ce n’est plus ce groupe! mais une pale imitation…
March 3rd, 2020 at 12:41After listening to the clips too many times to count, I’m pretty excited for this. Nothing at All is the one that jumps for me – along with a bunch of others.
March 3rd, 2020 at 18:20Here is my review of the 30 second snippets.
Track 1 started off uninspiring and I thought – oh oh is this going to be a letdown??
Tracks 2,3, 5, 7, 8, 10 & 11 – Sounded pretty good and have potential. Keep our fingers crossed!
Tracks 4,6,9, &13 were ok but bland. Small hope these will be better all the way through
Track 12 – well its a cover of their own stuff so if you didn’t like it to begin with….. I thought it sounded pretty good.
Overall I think this album has some potential to be really good, but who knows – The Suprising came on after this clip on youtube and if I heard a certain portion clipped – I might not have liked it. SO really you need the whole song to comment. One thing for sure – No KILLER RIFFS so far!!
March 3rd, 2020 at 18:33@56 – DP was no more after 1969! Your 50 + years too late!! LMAO!!
March 3rd, 2020 at 18:36I checked that YT clip, and was tempted to hit PLAY…..but didn’t. I guess we’ll have a full song or 2 to chew on before June. Gotta say, from some of the comments I’ve read here, the word “underwhelming” springs to mind. I don’t expect another Purpendicular or Now What, but I don’t want InFinite: The Sequel.
March 3rd, 2020 at 19:40As expected, it’s more of the same… it’s OK.
March 3rd, 2020 at 22:47I like “And The Address”.
Well, I had a listen to those Whoosh snippets and I am not overly optimistic about how this album is going to turn out. I am trying to be objective here, so perhaps there are more gems and nice surprises hidden deeper in those tracks which will reveal themselves once the whole album is released.
I am not bashing the band, they have always been, are still, and will forever be my favourite group of all time. That said, I feel that what I am hearing so far is simply not up to their past standard. These previews seem almost to sound like leftovers from the cutting room floor of the Infinite album – the ideas that didn’t make it to that album. I really hope I am wrong.
At this point I believe it is best not to pass to harsh a judgment on this upcoming release – there may be some nice moments on the new record once we get a chance to listen to it in its totality.
March 3rd, 2020 at 23:33@56
ta perte.
March 3rd, 2020 at 23:58Based on the snippet available, Dancing in My Sleep sounds like a cover. I don’t mind it at all. I enjoyed Roadhouse Blues. And, in fact, I still do.
March 4th, 2020 at 00:36Sorry guys but you build you hopes on a sand castle. The truth is when you get an album with lots of short songs thrown in then you know it’s a very relaxed album. The problem is people expects Machine Head or Perfect strangers but the truth is you won’t get that in a million years. The band is just doing what Ian Gillan comes up with so the days of jamming for hours to get a song are over. That album defiantly sounds like it was done in 3 days. Maybe Slaves and Masters is a fine album after all!!!!
March 4th, 2020 at 02:41Hey, where is the fan anticipation of old? Times when we were waiting for the single?
March 4th, 2020 at 06:08Are there other people like me out there, who do NOT go to listen and spoil themselves with
snippets? Waiting for some official release.
And again, if you’re waiting for somes 70’s hard rock stuff, i think you’d better go back to your old LP’s and not pay any attention to the new thing…
Well, the YOUTUBE version is taken down here and the other one wont play.
Surprised that they d offer some previews. The releasedate is june?
I think I with several others regarding the point that we were led to believe this would be an album with much longer tracks, appearantly they did not feel like it, again.
Things are all fizzling out I m afraid.
Love the albumtitle though, reminded me of the ventilator switched on at the start of FIREBALL.
March 4th, 2020 at 09:34https://m.soundcloud.com/swooshofficial/deep-purple-child-in-time-swoosh-interpretation-1
– Is this for real?
Cheers
March 4th, 2020 at 12:15@68: Apparently, it’s right there for everyone to hear. Someone did a remix of CiT four years ago. It has nothing to do with the new album, if that is what you meant.
March 4th, 2020 at 14:11The snippets were rather uninspiring to say the least. I now think the group should have wrapped it up after Now What?! I’ve already bought tickets for the forthcoming live shows and already feel I’ve made a mistake. Zero improvisation and competently ‘going through the motions,’ will most likely be the order of the day there, (as is the usual now). Feel gutted writing this as a fan of 40 years, but it is what it is.
March 4th, 2020 at 18:55sorry but I could not be more disappointed with those snippets…bland, uninspiring and seems to me like a Ian Gillan playing with a band backing him up.
If this is the last album, then I would have rather stopped with Now What ?! Infinite had a few good songs and this looks like the worst of the trinity with Bob Ezrin. The album seems to me rushed and just playing “live”…but this doesn’t look too promising, starting with too many songs and the short songs.
@66 and no sir I’m not expecting Machine head,or Now What?! or Purpendicular but like Gillan would say this is an instrumental band which we grew to love.Where is Steve Morse and Airey playing gone?!give me Purple signature please! most of the songs are 3 minutes and don’t need to listen more than that to have a feeling what would be like.
Cmon guys hang it up,Gillan/Glover are turning this band in a parody of themselves.Time to hang it up.
March 5th, 2020 at 02:20@65 Adel, you’re spot on. This album is just for fun, take it or leave it. So I’ll take it with great pleasure, thank you!.
March 5th, 2020 at 03:58Whoosh will still be a lot better than anything by Drake or Taylor Swift in my book.
Also in 2020, be on the lookout for the new Blue Oyster Cult studio album, it’s their first set of new music for nearly 20 years!.
Can somebody post the snippets? I am in Germany and I cannot hear them.
March 5th, 2020 at 12:38@73: The record company has made sure the snippets are gone, both from Google Play and YouTube. If anyone posts them again, they are more than likely to disappear again.
March 5th, 2020 at 12:56al @71- I think covering And The Address is a huge indication that Purple is finishing up.
March 5th, 2020 at 13:42June 12th leaves lots of time for speculation and stewing over what might be……
Seems the snippets did more harm than good, which is probably why the record company had them removed. I’m glad I didn’t listen to them.
I am hoping that those snippets we had a chance to hear via Google, are only the raw bases of each song, and that additional instrumentation / soloing will be added in the weeks to come. Looking at those track lengths on Google, it makes no sense that what we heard could be the final product. I am cautiously optimistic that there will be further development of those ideas between now and the mid-June release.
March 5th, 2020 at 16:09Hi.
March 5th, 2020 at 20:15I live in New Zealand & have just listened to the clips again and have done so every day this week from the link provided @53.
There are some good tracks there and are growing on me. I like Man Alive. It has a Birds of Prey feel about it.
Cheers
Phil
@76 I hope you right
But if that is the length of the songs I’m really really disappointed.Hearing those snippets,it sounds more like Gillan album then Purple and it gets in my nerves
March 5th, 2020 at 23:14Yikes !!
March 5th, 2020 at 23:50The very mention of Drake and Taylor Swift (#72) on this venerable site must mean the end is near !
@73 Ivan, here’s the clips:

Since two new albums have been released after Rapture, and the third one is going to be released, it’s time to conduct a new poll with Steve Morse-era songs!!!
March 6th, 2020 at 05:01https://www.thehighwaystar.com/thsblog/2007/10/28/setlist-poll-morse-strikes-back/
Just like this, but including NowWhat and InFinite songs!))
just listened to the 30 sec bites again…..sadly NOT IMPRESSED! Hopefully the songs in their entirety will be better? Nothing new here so far, sounds old and slow, with an average length of 3:30 – 4 minutes…WTF?! This is not what I had hoped for at all. Obviously will buy and listen to the new release over and over before making a final call 🤞🤞
March 6th, 2020 at 10:29Here is finally a descriptive teaser audio of what the new album will be like.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLNjVvJAiCw
With a little help from some Australian friends and DP finally exploring new audience segments.
March 6th, 2020 at 18:20@65,i’m afraid i have to agree with you too.Ian Gillan is an absolute legend, but his lack of taking things seriously, and ridiculous titles and lyrics are not funny anymore.Whoosh? What’s that all about? It’s a joke of a title for such a great, established band. You can’t take the album seriously based on that alone,it’s obviously slapstick. What the What? What the hell? What does that mean?Tracks which are way too short and will finish before they get going. It rules out any decent solos for a start. From the clips,no life in the tracks, almost talking rather than singing(again). Some did grow on me a bit,but maybe it was wishful thinking.Since the incredibly disappointing Infinite, this is a sad way for the greatest rock band of all time to finish.I was hoping for so much better this time,as this amazing band ruled the world once.
March 6th, 2020 at 21:15@74 I’m in the ‘states and this link has been up all week here and as of March 7 …all the samples play fine, actually, listening now.

I am desperately hoping that what you said is true. And maybe this is a just rough snippets.Still, not impressed at all.
March 8th, 2020 at 15:46Sounds like Ian Gillan’s Javelins project and It is annoying the hell out of me. Gillan/Glover are dominating the writing and the selection, and quite honestly they “have removed that Deep Out of Purple”
Ilya_Pon @81:
we already did polls for Now what?! and inFinite

will probably do a simiar poll after the new album is released
March 8th, 2020 at 20:47I have another understanding of that cover art now… the corona viruses or other diseases will sweep away human life. Hence the self isolation spaceman suit to attempt to protect oneself from infection. I’ve seen it on the tv news, people wearing protective coveralls walking the streets & spraying disinfectant in the streets…
March 8th, 2020 at 22:45Al @ 78 & 89…..I fully understand what you are saying and feeling. I have gone back onto Youtube to have another listen. There are 3 or 4 songs that sound really promising, and there are a couple others that sound might they might have some good potential, but the rest fall flat for me. Again though, this is based simply on quick listens of short excerpts. Hopefully – fingers crossed, the final product will contain some decent instrumental and solo passages.
March 9th, 2020 at 02:08I’ve always wanted to hear And the Address live. Hopefully it will precede Hush in the encores for the next tour.
March 9th, 2020 at 04:01For what it’s worth, I wasn’t impressed by the snippets that were released prior to InFinite but I liked the album & songs. This is going to be true especially true with progressive rock.
March 9th, 2020 at 04:14@ 84 Agreed.
We are bitching, moaning, screeching ..but it is getting kind of tiresome with this crap already! Like you said,This is Deep Purple for Christ’s sake.Have some “dramatic’ aspect to the album like Ritchie would say.
March 9th, 2020 at 16:25I know they won’t listen to us,and will play and make their music but this titles and length are a complete turn off.The longest song from that list is like 5 minutes….then again,I will listen to it,either way.
We are looking forward to the release of the new album in Brasil. New tour in Brasil?
March 9th, 2020 at 23:59Guys, are you joking?
I loved the clips from the very first listen. Musically they’re so diverse and full of energy. Gillan sings so relaxed and there seems to be so
much joy in it.
As for the solos, all of the clips are the vocal parts only, so how come that you dislike the album for “lacking the guitar solos” ? How could you listen to guitar solo during the vocal parts?
I’m more than excited even from this clips and it grows even more when I listen to it again and again.
No worries, these guys know what they do.
Looking forward to the full album and the first single.
March 10th, 2020 at 12:55My deep brethren, shouldn’t we all be thankful their nurses let them out at all for another recording? DP will never again record something that shakes the foundations of the music world, but remember that each and every album they record these days could be their last postcard. And a postcard it is, showing where the band is NOW – after five decades of faithful service to us that had its ups and downs. But I like that they are still around – and not conserved in amber like Led Zep. DP were always more sitcom than Academy Award, but I for one like(d) watching. And even a mediocre Purple album is something to talk about and cherish.
March 11th, 2020 at 13:58Well Said Giorgi at 97 ! Live and let live !!

March 11th, 2020 at 19:46@97 Giorgi

March 11th, 2020 at 21:57Some of the comments make feel like I have called for a certain domain on my browser, but, somehow, I have ended up on another…
March 12th, 2020 at 22:44This phenomenal band far exceeded my expectations a long time ago, and, at this point, anything that they put out is simply gravy. Putting out new music is their choice. Getting it is mine. And I love it.
They’ve already proven their worth to me, many times over. I don’t need another album to determine their worth…it’s far beyond that. And I won’t judge their worthiness by the new release, either. I am just grateful that there is another album on the way. I will certainly welcome it with open arms.
P.S. I recently rediscovered Accidentally on Purpose. So different from any of the various DP Marks, but so amazing and full of variety and flourishing creativity. Big Ian and Roger are geniuses on that album. Give it a spin.
@103
There is only one genius and that it Blackmore mate.I’m very open minded and accept every line up incarnation and albums,BUT WE STILL ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT IT RIGHT ?Granted we have to reserve our “critique”when the album is out,and then use the skip button.lol
Frankly this a Ian Gillan back up band so to speak, but hey I will still listen to it regardless.
March 15th, 2020 at 15:45@103 – Yes it is all about the MIB. nothing else matters (Metallica copyright!) Because as we all know DP was a one man band with some fillers on the other instruments.
I remember seeing RB smash those drums, play that Hammond like nobody’s business, lay bass lines with steady eddy beats that can’t be beat and his vocals WOW! Second to none. Never mind the lyrics – but Who Cares!
March 16th, 2020 at 16:23Then I woke up and heard Blackmore’s Night! Get me outta Here (Copyrighted!)
Oh well, I was not expecting too much after recent releases and this sort of fits. Basically too much Gillan and some well-worn accompaniment. Hard to tell much more from samples, and maybe it will sound more dynamic and open in the main rig but it all feels a bit tired. Ian G, love ya, but you have a tendency to just fill every space unnecessarily and indulge yourself. I thought an outside producer might have imposed a bit more discipline but this sounds like another dose of Infinite, as if one wasn’t enough.
