The hardest hitting Drummaster.
(Spoke once about this with Mr. Rondinelli. He admitted my opinion was right.)
Deeply missed, undervalued.
Long Live Cozy. Up there, somewhere…
November 25th, 2019 at 16:55So many great British drummers from that golden era! Cozy is definitely one of them & one of my favourites. Wonderful to see this, a superb tribute to him. In regards to Sabbath’s Dehumanizer album, I was very disappointed that Cozy didn’t end up in that lineup. That horse falling on him put an end to that from what we heard at the time. Although I don’t think Geezer Butler liked his style of drumming either, from what I read somewhere at the time, so maybe CP wasn’t meant to be in that band at that time, such a shame! Still enjoy his ‘solo’ albums also, so much talent from all involved. Cheers.

November 26th, 2019 at 13:38Great trollist Ritchie-Ronnie-Cozy who “kept” hard rock in the mid-seventies .. hard rock monuments albums “Rising”, On Stage “,” LL RnR “. Great drumming work on album ” Down to the Earth “/” Lost In Hollywood “/, also in the MSG concert album” One Night at Budokan “. Whitesnake era….I think Paice was a better choice while WS was still an hard – RnR-blues band…I followed his work before Rainbow..on The Jeff Beck Group and after… Gary Moore,Peter Green,Brian May,BS,ELP…… great..an exceptional musician
November 29th, 2019 at 16:11It is surprising how little footage there is of Cozy. The footage that is out there is not very illuminating in terms of camera angles. Probably one of the better ones is that drum series by PETE YORK “Super Drumming” One of the distinctive thing about Cozy was the way he struck his cymbals..it was very unique as he kind of waived at them as he hit them. It was like he was shooting geese flying by up on his right side. Odd motion that he would use…like he was picking them off up on his right. I may pick up the book. The video documentary just seemed to die out a long time ago.
