Moore Blues for Gary
Several members of the Purple family paid tribute to the late Gary Moore by taking part in recording of Moore Blues for Gary – A Tribute To Gary Moore album due out on October 26 via Edel/earMUSIC. This tribute album is a brainchild of Bob Daisley, who had played bass with Gary since the early eighties and was the one who suggested Gary to do a blues album.
Don Airey, Steve Morse, Glenn Hughes, and Joe Lynn Turner are among the guests, as well as Doug Aldrich, Gary’s sons Jack and Gus, Tim Gaze and Rob Grosser from the Hooche Coochie Men, and many others.

September 7th, 2018 at 18:44Awesome track listing and personnel. GM was born about 100m from me (albeit a few years before me) and my wife’s friend was his first girlfriend in school.
September 7th, 2018 at 18:47This sounds really good. Can’t wait until…oh, the biography is so fascinating to me that I’ve read it twice right up to the last chapter. There will never be anyone like him.
September 8th, 2018 at 02:01Is there Ian Paice too?
September 8th, 2018 at 10:24I’m not a big fan of tribute albums but I think that I might get this one.
September 8th, 2018 at 10:34Oh man…. this is definitely one to grab…. Some great songs selected for this LP. So looking forward to it. “Nothings the Same” with Glenn Hughes should be fantastic. The song I tribute to my late Father and best friend. Gary Moore, my favorite guitarist of them all… RIP Gary, you are so missed by this huge fan.
September 8th, 2018 at 15:02NICE!! Still Got The Blues can be heard on YouTube…freaking awesome!!
September 9th, 2018 at 12:41Buy this…. this is incredible stuff must have for any hard rock fan. Jon Sykes just ”SMOKES” solo on Still Got the Blues.
September 10th, 2018 at 17:34It’s a nice touch that he let his old boss (post-Mungo Jerry, but pre-Widowmaker and Rainbow) Stan Webb of Chicken Shack play on this.
Daisley is a severely underrated bassist – his pick technique is immaculate and he can really stretch out as he did on the Mothers Army stuff and in part also with Ozzy.
