I met Roger and Paicey years ago, and used to hang out with Gillan quite a bit. The thing that really strikes me about Glover and Paice is how intelligent they are, and eloquent. I mean, 50 years of rock-and-roll will give you a lot of wisdom, if you’re still alive. These guys know the ins and outs of music, obviously. But more impressive is their philosophical take on life itself. I don’t know if DP members realize it, but many fans feel a real friendship with this group, “Above & Beyond” the music. DP members respect the music and they respect the fans. And the feeling is mutual.
A short and sweet phone-in on The John DeBella Show, 102.9 WMGK.
“Today we talked to Deep Purple rockers Ian Paice and Roger Glover! They told us about never getting along with Rolling Stone, working with Beatles, and staying relatively anonymous despite massive rock and roll fame. Check them out!” http://wmgk.com/episodes/ian-paice-roger-glover-podcast/
