“Art exists everywhere one cares to look…”
In his recent update, Roger Glover shares with us that he took opportunity of the touring break to spend time with his family and presents a new installment of his pictures from the road, this time featuring torn posters, unexpected fashion statements, views from the above and trees waiting to pounce.

wow !!!!!
April 25th, 2008 at 01:27Yawn!
I always hated that part in which he plays different kind of Classic Rock tunes, incorporated in Smoke On The Water.
Compare that to what RB made of it in later years………….Like comparing the Beastie Boys with Bach.
Ok, well at least he smiles………
April 26th, 2008 at 12:01I LOVE IT…….
No matter what the Blog…..
We get “Ritchiepriest” with the same old yuck……
Priest, they make vitamins for the that. Or maybe not. Maybe you are as old as you say and you just keep forgetting what you already wrote, and you actually think you are entering your Blackmore Dream for the first time every time…..he he.
I believe they call it… “Alzheimer’s”
Back to the “Real Subject”….
Roger has always been a visual artist. I remember back in ’82, when a channel Cable TV did a special on him regarding his love to draw and paint, and he participated in a very candid interview discussing his love for it and how it helped during his departure from Deep Purple back in ’73. They showcased a few of his paintings and discussed the inspiration behind them. I wish I had recorded the show. I never saw it again and when I asked Roger about it after one of the many shows I later saw him at, he hardly even remembered doing the interview. He did state “It was a couple of years before MK2 got back together and I was not in a very good place in my life at the time”.
Does anyone else out there remember this TV special I am referring to?
I doubt if Priest saw it……once he found that Ritchie wasn’t making an appearence, what would be the point….he he.
April 26th, 2008 at 16:45He he Tracy : your ‘Priest-bashing’ is getting very tiresome and annoying. Very immature from man of your age ๐
Mr. Glover has had a hand in designing various DP album covers(80’s Rainbow as well), and I think he’s very talented in that era also.
April 27th, 2008 at 19:25I really need a vacation.
I have to recover from all this relentless hate…………..
Or…………
Maybe I just ship out to another forum, hehehe
Goodbye to ya all………….
April 27th, 2008 at 20:21Sami:……Are Your For Real? I’m just keeping it REAL. By the way, it isn’t “Priest-Bashing”. It’s poking fun at a constant “Morse-Basher”. I only address and confer in regards to what I read, and if you can say that my response to the ever present and ever repetative “Morse-Bashing” by “Ritchiepriest” is tiring and annoying, then you must be on the same page as the Preacher himself. Immature? I doubt that explains my being tired of the overbearing, constant that exists on this site. No matter what the subject is about, it usually comes back to “priest” centering on “Morse-Bashing”, whom by the way “Is Deep Purple’s Guitarist”. NOT RITCHIE!!!!
“Priest”……relentless hate? Sorry you feel that way. I don’t even know you, much less hate you. I only respond to the conversation of the the Blog. Unfortunately, you are the one whom sings the same old song and makes it a “Morse vs Blackmore” show. I only express “My” oppinion of the point of it’s pointlessness.
Now, it is time for this “immature” man to prepare for his 1.5 hour trip to see “Deep Purple MK8, with Steve Morse” on the the Big Screen tonight, playing some old classics and present material, from the record that Roger helped do the cover art for.
Sami…..stop drinking “priest’s” Kool-aid.
Priest….get off your pitty pot. If you are going to constantly bash the guitarist whom has basically salvaged and reserected Deep Purple and given us many, many songs and performances to enjoy, I believe you should “Swallow” some fall out from us whom grow weary of your SOS. It’s time you “Follow” your “Guitar God” where-ever he may go and forget this band that you now have no respect or a liken for.
The only Hater here is ……..you know.
Cheers
April 28th, 2008 at 15:07wow strong words tracy ……. but i gotta go 2 the show c-yall ๐
April 28th, 2008 at 15:19Tracy : I’m very much for real, and I don’t drink
anyone’s Kool-aid either!! Just stating an opinion, as I have felt several times that you have got too personal in your ‘battle’ with Priest. But then again, life’s too short, so let’s show
some respect towards each other here…it’s not hard, you know.
Have a good week everybody :),
Sami
April 28th, 2008 at 15:55In keeping with the theme of the topic presented here…
Roger has always been into the graphic arts. He has been responsible for the design of several Deep Purple album covers. I recall a sketch for the design of “Fireball.”
I once came across a drawing of his which looked to be pen and ink on paper. It was an abstract that I used as the cover for an edited mix of the Montreux/Hard Rock London shows.
April 28th, 2008 at 20:26i wonder if he did the cover for live at the olympia i always liked that cover art
April 29th, 2008 at 02:05Sami; you possess very good interpersonal communication skills. Law Enforcement could use someone like you!
April 29th, 2008 at 17:09Seven-47 : are you serious/kidding?! Sorry, but I already
have a job in which I’m good at, but thanks anyway.
Are you a cop by any chance? You seem to come across
as an ‘observer’ and a very polite individual(what am I, a ******* Dr. Phil, heh). Sorry,
can’t always express myself the way I want to in english,
but I’ll do my best.
Have a good week, Seven-47, I’m off to put our baby-boy to bed…greetings from spring-like Finland.
April 29th, 2008 at 18:01…what was this blog about again…sorry…
April 29th, 2008 at 18:02Sami;
I was serious and yes. I’m off to work, have a good one!
April 30th, 2008 at 04:59Sami priest,
During this last days I was looking and admiring again and again Rogers magnificient and so diverse artwork. It amazes me how many talents he can handle.I don’t have to add that I love it!Only today I start reading the replies of this blog.I must say I was a little perplex to find Priest here again. Not if is was of interest for ‘our all heroes’, but I found it not suitable from him to bring his RB obsession into this topic. Roger deserve here a big applaus!
For me it is always obvious that there is no hate or bashing on from Tracy or anybody else towards Priest, but it is only fair that his replies deserves answers of an eaquel value.I’m a soft character, but when I read RP non content bandrecordings , I get completely energized to bring the scale back in balance. After all my heroes were called ‘crap’ and were asked ‘to go away’ etc.So I tried this last weeks also to please Priest with a lot of replying. Some answers were attempts for a meaningfull conversation. If some other answers sound firm or rude, it are only the funny replies to Priests echoes!
Yet I noticed one thing:Priest never answers to a true question, and if the answer is ‘bashing back’, he starts complaining or wining, or he just disappears! So, I think Priest knows very well he is having fun with us too!
A while ago, Tracy wrote also if someone should feel hurted or personally taken, the free answers would stop at once.So you see, there is respect and therefore a lovely wide limitation!
Remember that we are hard rockers and no visitors of a tea party! ๐
And now… drinking music and listening to my beer!
Tracy!
May 1st, 2008 at 21:49Mind you! Perhaps you should call Purple Priest better Black Priest in future.
And for an immature you are a very handsome specimen on the Perihelion DVD!
Annemie : Point taken, thanks.
By the way, it’s just Sami, not Sami priest…
