Having a glass of lemonade
A 1981 vintage interview with Ian Gillan, done by Australian journalist Donnie Sutherland is available on Getty Images. Since they are trying to sell those clips, there appears no possibility to show it here, but you can watch the interview clips for free (albeit watermarked) if you head over there.
Thanks to Yvonne for the info.

November 22nd, 2016 at 22:40This would be the interview for the following tour of Oz in 1982, from my memory of that gig in Sydney. Unfortunately Bernie Torme had left the band & Janick Gers was his replacement. Gillan & the band were in fine form though & this is how he looked at that time. A year later he was in Sabbath. A year after that he was back in Purple. Happy days indeed! Cheers.
November 23rd, 2016 at 10:23I look upon the years of Gillan from 79 to 82 as a good source of voice lubricating years for Gillan. Musically it’s ok but it’s not something that will be cemented in the history of rock and roll. Just as the years from 94 to present. No one can name a stand out song that will cemented in the history story of DP. Hence why the man in black is sitting like a king in his German palace.
