The other side of Rainbow
There is a new book of interest out: The other side of Rainbow by Greg Prato, the author of Tommy Bolin biography. The book appears to be a collection of interviews arranged in chronological order (much like many of Martin Popoff’s books). The list of people interviewed includes David Feinstein, Micky Lee Soule, Wendy Dio, Tony Carey, Graham Bonnett, Mark Clarke, JLT, Bobby Rondinelli, David Rosenthal, David Stone, Chuck Burgi, Doogie White, Greg Smith, Eric Bloom (Blue Oyster Cult), Herman Rarebell (Scorpions), Craig Goldy, Eddie Trunk, and others. As you can see, any input from Blackmore is conspicuously absent. Despite that, the few pages preview that is available on Amazon, made this editor yearn for more. And at $10 for electronic version it won’t break the bank.
The book is available through Amazon as both paperback and Kindle editions.
Thanks to Alex Kononow for the info.
Im sure I already know what most people in the book will have to say about Rainbow and the man in black… But since Im a long lost sucker for these kind of books..I buy it anyway! LOL

November 10th, 2016 at 00:43I got it in Kindle yesterday and have read some of it. Some interesting quotes, but NO input from Blackmore whatsoever. Its fairly interesting but it kind of assumes that everyone already knows the basic chronology. So far, not as good as his book on Tommy Bolin.

November 10th, 2016 at 13:50Don’t have much interest in reading this but mati @ 3 has offered something of great interest and deserves a main page spot here. This multi-cam pro-shot performance of “Deep Purple Mark 4 Live At The Capital Centre Maryland USA 1976” playing Tommy Bolin’s “Marching Powder” is something really special. Looks to be a much better performance from him and filming than the old “Last Concert in Japan” disaster. Hopefully the whole show will emerge someday soon.

November 10th, 2016 at 14:22I ll buy it but the ultimate bio is certainly Black Knight by Jerry Bloom. What an incredible book.
November 12th, 2016 at 07:31There’s no input from Blackmore for blatantly obvious reasons.
November 12th, 2016 at 22:37They seem to have many well-known people interviewed. Yet, I find the concept what to have a book on Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and not have anything from the namesake.
