BCC may or may not tour
Classic Rock has a few quotes from Glenn Hughes, the gist of which boils down to that he will be busy touring with his solo album, consequently Black Country Communion might not be touring after the new album is released.
I have no idea whether there will be a tour from BCC. There may well be a chance of that but at this point I’m not going to speculate as, being the mouthpiece of BCC, last time it was me that took a beating from the trolls when it didn’t happen.
I’m so proud of Resonate and it certainly has legs – I’m going to spend a year touring it around the world. It’s looking like I will play three tours of America in 2017. I’m going everywhere.
Thanks to Team Rock for the info.
… and so it begins … again
September 15th, 2016 at 00:52Ahhhh… good old Glenn Hughes, chasing the wrong carrot AGAIN. Obviously WAY too old to learn something new. Here He Goes Again.
September 15th, 2016 at 02:41@2 i thought was just me reading this wrong …Hughes playing the defensive card with ” we all are very busy and we might not tour at all!! this guy is such Primma Dona.

September 16th, 2016 at 05:45Thought it was a bit of a have, going back to that considering he got screwed last time around. Too many activities to my ears. Voodoo Hill is really great, from last year. Way better than BCC, Waterfall is a classic album. I consider this band to be too much of a problem that leaves him, without control strangely. I’m not a fan of the guitar player, and the producer. Glenn tread carefully you don’t have to prove anything. Your a legend.
September 16th, 2016 at 11:14He moaned last time that Joe wouldn’t tour BCC, the stars align again and now Glenn won’t tour – when will Mr. Hughes ever learn? His solo material – no matter how good it is (or Glenn believes it to be) is never going to set the world on fire. Without a major label behind him Glenn won’t be able to reach the heights he did with Purple, and although BCC will also never be that big globally, they will certainly have a bigger presence than Glenn’s solo career can muster (mainly due to JB’s higher profile). So, Glenn should make BCC the main priority, which will in turn help his own stock, but I doubt he’ll do that. It’s funny how anybody who criticises him in any way is written off as a ‘troll.’ He once told me that I had ‘no soul’ because, although a fan of his work I am not a sycophant, and I dared to say that he had a tendency to over-sing on occasion (I was talking about his live performances).
September 16th, 2016 at 14:49Tracy @2. I share the same disappointment as you. I was hoping that all of the BCC members would park their respective solo careers and devote themselves fully to the larger project, but from Glenn Hughes’ comments, it seems that BCC will simply be a part time venture once more.
I am thinking that maybe Glenn is promoting his solo project as a way of consoling himself from the non-commitment of others….remember last time Bonamassa never fully immersed himself into BCC, it was simply a sideline for him. And Bonham jumped ship unexpectedly from California Breed just before they went out on tour. So maybe Glenn sees his solo project as his liferaft in case BCC goes south once again.

I saw Glenn Hughes play in Whitesburg, Ky. on August 24th and the show was incredible. He has a great 3 piece band and by all rights, if it goes well so it goes. I was able to chat with his guitarist and drummer after the show and they are both young hungry players that totally worship and honor his past legendary footprint in rock. I think HE is wrapped up in his solo thing with HIS name on it and his band mates enthrallment with him. He truly is a narcissist and unfortunately allows that to drive his direction. Usually to a short lived demise. He should take the BCC effort more serious and do his solo stuff along with it. That being said, Glenn is Glenn and he is still doing it. Is his way Our way? Obviously not, but at least he is still doing it and we get some great music along the way, either way…
Check out the link below of the youtube concert from this tour that is what I was able to see in person. He and his 3 piece band are really doing a great job and should be proud of this venture. But, BCC will definitely bring him more recognition and success. Maybe for his ego, he should have done the Blackmore thing and named it.. “Glenn Hughes’s BCC”. Then his name would take the spotlight as HE seems to need so much.

September 19th, 2016 at 02:28BCC material is so rich so any new album should make the live set list incredible. Now the problem with touring with big guys is that you have to share the cake equally but I think the cake is too small to share!!! And that is the main problem. Glenn is the main driving force for BCC so the rest of the guys need to bow to him.
September 19th, 2016 at 20:11Tracy @8, that is a great concert link, really good quality. I have also seen Glenn Hughes a couple of times in recent years and he is a fantastic performer.
I agree, it’s true that Glenn does seem to want to lead any project he is involved in. That was evident even in the Mark III years – he didn’t want to stay in Coverdale’s shadow, and maybe that’s the reason for the over-singing at times. That trait has carried through to the present day. He is a wonderfully gifted musician and songwriter, but he lacks a governor at times and seems not to realize that he needs to reel it back a notch or two. And perhaps that is why it is so hard for him to maintain a stable band.
That said, again he is truly a fine musician and he has written some very good songs. I am looking forward to his solo album, and fingers crossed, I am hoping that egos of all concerned will be checked at the front door when BCC reconvenes.
September 20th, 2016 at 03:07Got to be tough to get commitments from all involved . And to get a promoter to book it , you have to be able to show up . I could see where Glenn’s not about to run his lip about a tour .
September 20th, 2016 at 19:57Just saw this new Glenn Hughes video release on Classic Rock’s website. Its called “Heavy”. If the rest of the new album is like this, its very promising.

September 21st, 2016 at 01:25@ 5 seriously ?
September 21st, 2016 at 03:43voodoo Hill is really great ?! that album was so flat and so high school Euro fast played with nothing to remember of…cmon be real,BCC are much stronger than everything he puts out there as a solo artist.Having said that I think he is a great performer and musician live( if not for those shrieking and self indulgent screaming that gets in your nerves. )I am still looking forward to listening to his solo material.playing fast doesn’t mean shit man, unless the you have some good music, and it looks to me that Voodoo Hill Italian guitar player is stuck in that kind of school.
I am really fed up with the low stabbing personal attacks on Glenn’s personality.
I do agree with certain critcisms though .
The way he sings unfortunately and I have bad experience enough now with his gigs being too loud whereas the 90’s shows were excellent and NOT having certain “soundproblems”
I dont have a clue whats wise regarding making buisnesschoices.
I also dont think people who are nagging on here about that should stay to their own space,
The man does what he can and reagrding his age the possibilities have bevome more limited.
Thats not something one can change.
It is what it is.
