On the limitations of Euclidean arithmetic

A lengthy interview with Ian Gillan that may or may not have stemmed from his gardening activities. It is also kind of curious due to slightly unorthodox questions and even more unorthodox answers.

How do you deal with line up changes?

How about your songwriting?

Was it harder or easier to start in the music industry when you did?

How do you deal with any anticipation before going on stage?

Can you tell us about your charity projects?

What about any other on going projects?

Deep Purple gig in London in December 2015

Who would you invite to a dinner party and why?

Thanks to Rabbit Attack PR for the info.

Gillan eh, i enjoy theses interviews with him, he is a thinker & that is always good! Sheesh, I always had him down as a belligerent lead vocalist, who gave poor old Ritchie a hard time! On another humorous take, I can just imagine the lady interviewing him & her thoughts, when he is talking about physics, time & space, infinity & the concept of a God! Classic. Cheers.

Tis is fascinating stuff. Of all the umpteen interviews I’ve read with Gillan I’ve never heard him talking about life after death before! Good lesson for other interviewers – just ask a question and let them talk. If the person is interesting enough, they’ll tell you all manner of fascinating things. Really interesting – thanks!!

Well, I´ve loved Ian Gillan since 1972 and think he´s a hell of a singer, specially way back in 1970-1973 but also in 1984- and forward… he could blow all the other singers away from the stage.. all the Robert Plants, Mick Jaggers, David Coverdales, Ozzys and Freddie Mercurys… I love the man, but lets not make him into a philosophy teacher….. sometimes he plays the Mr “clever card” one too many times… Actually, I rather listen to the man in Black and his cynical view of the world without trying to sound clever…… Maybe Gillan´s trying to be a lion but he is really a Leo………. But thats nice too!

I think he need to go drinking with Brian May who really does understand some of these concepts and might point him at some useful answers.

@ 5 amen to that lol

@4 I agree,he should stick to what he does best: music! It is good that he has his own theories and have a understanding of infinity, but cmon Gillan leave it to that professionals and let’s not get carried away.Honestly,I really don’t get what the hell is saying, but hey I am not as deep as Ian anyway! lol
