1. Funky Junction - A Tribute to Deep Purple

This album was recorded by Eric Bell (gtr), Brian Downey (drm), Dave Lennox (kbr), Phil Lynott (bss) and Benny Whyte (vcl). At the request of some German guy, parts of the then young Thin Lizzy (i.e. Bell, Downey and Lynott) were offered a sum of money to record a DP tribute anonymously, which they did. The album was released during early 1973 on the label Stereo Gold Award (MER 373) in the UK. It includes the following tracks (incorrect running order):
  • Fireball
  • Black Night
  • Strange Kind Of Woman
  • Hush
  • Speed King
  • Plus some non-DP tracks.

2. The Moscow Symphony Orchestra plays the music of Deep Purple

The Moscow Symphony Orchestra released an album with symphonic Deep Purple covers sometime during 1992. It was recorded live during April 1992 in Moscow. Apparently Blackmore was invited to participate but never showed up. The album has been released in Japan by Zero Records (XRCN-1022) and in the UK by Cromwell (CPCD 018). It includes the following tracks:

3. Smoke on the Water - a tribute

The initiators of the Blues Bureau International collected a gang of rock musicians to record a tribute album to Deep Purple, which was released in the States during 1994 by Shrapnel/Roadrunner Records (RR 8697-2). Deen Castronovo (drm), Todd Jensen (bss), Jens Johansson (kbr) & Russ Parrish (gtr) provide the basic back-up. Other people featured are: Reb Beach (gtr), Don Dokken (vcl), Paul Gilbert (vcl/gtr), Tony Harnell (vcl), Glenn Hughes (vcl), Kelly Keeling (vcl), Richie Kotzen (vcl/gtr), Tony MacAlpine (gtr), Yngwie Malmsteen (gtr), Robert Mason (vcl), Vinnie Moore (gtr), John Norum (gtr), Jeff Scott Soto (vcl), Joe Lynn Turner (vcl), Mike Varney (gtr), Kip Winger (vcl). 4. Black Night - Deep Purple tribute according to New York

A funk-soul tribute to Deep Purple published by Fun House Inc. (FHCF-9005) sometime during Nov 1995 (in Japan). People involved are: Will Calhoun (drm), Corey Glover (vcl), Tony Harnell (vcl), Richie Kotzen (gtr;vcl), Lars Y. Loudamp [= Yngwie Malmsteen] (gtr), Vinnie Moore (gtr), Al Pitrelli (gtr), T. M. Stevens (bss;vcl), Joe Lynn Turner (vcl), Bernie Worrell (kbr). Tracks included are the following:

6. Garage Rock & Blues Project

An Austrian Band recorded a 5 track CD in 1993 including a 6:32 medley of Deep Purple Songs. The Cd number is RBP 001251093 (no specific label). The Medley is as follows:
