Deep Purple in Norway 1993On the 15th of November 1993 Deep Purple played the Oslo Spectrum. The band stayed at the Oslo Plaza Hotel, and so did a couple of friends of mine and myself too... The band arrived at the hotel in the afternoon 14th of November, and I walked into them by accident. I was going to the lobbystore to buy a newspaper when I suddenly saw Ritchie Blackmore inside the store. I ran to my hotelroom and got a cd and a pen, and ran down to the lobby again. Mr. Blackmore was very polite and signed the cd when I asked him. Later that evening we met Roger Glover and Ian Gillan down at the hotels pub. Mr. Gillan was playing pool with a friend of his, and when he'd finished the game we asked for his autograph. Mr. Gillan is the nicest person/star I've ever met. He was such a polite person. When I thanked him for the pic. and the autograph, he said "Thank you you gentlemen" because we waited until he finished the game before we asked him about anything. We saw the whole band on several occations between 14th-16th of Nov. They were all very nice, but you could feel the hate between mr. Blackmore and mr. Gillan. The gig in Oslo were the second last with mr. Blackmore and it was a fucking brilliant gig as well. I can prove that- I got the gig on videotape!
