[ d e e p P u r . p l e ) The Highway Star

During a discussion about the 25th anniversary remasters Ante Senjanovic asked: "Roger, how do you feel about remixing at the age of 64?". Inspired by this Adrian M. "Jelly" Johnson came up with this little tune:

When I'm Sixty-Four

When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now
Will you still be buying up the redone discs,
More tracks, stories, oodles of pics

If I'd been working Under The Gun
Tweaking Gillan's roar
Should I remaster, or play it faster
When I'm sixty-four.

You'll be older too,
Just please don't ask me for Slaves And Masters II.

I could be handy mixing the tracks
Like A Gypsy's Kiss
You can do the sleevenotes by the fireside
Writing of the long lost b-side

Checking the bass on Nobody's Home,
Thinking 'bout a tour
The only tension, Jon's got his pension
I'm just sixty-four.

Every summer we can rent a cottage, jam around "Black Night",
if we all can hear
We shall rock and rave
Old members come to see
Ritchie, Glenn & Dave

Send me your ideas, give me your thoughts
Even if they're mad
Indicate precisely what you want to play
Yours sincerely, mixing away

Give me your wantlist, send me e-mail,
Knock at my back door,
Will we still rock out, will the stores stock 'owt
When I'm sixty-four.

Yeah, I know it's crap, but I was bored:-)
Jelly.

Are you worried about what the band thinks about this stuff? Well, here's Roger Glover's response to the song above:
